A burst water main has forced a family-run fish and chip shop and restaurant to unexpectedly close.
The Jolly Fryer in Wisbech has been temporarily shut since Thursday, August 20, due to the incident, which caused a significant drop in water pressure.
The water leak was originally expected to be fixed by Friday (August 21), but Anglian Water has since stated it will be a five-day fix.
A spokesman for The Jolly Fryer said: "Honestly, this has broken me and it may sound silly to you all but this is our life, my family's life, our team's life.
"We rely on this shop to pay our bills, to make sure we can pay for next week's deliveries and all of the ever-rising bills, and this has completely devastated us again!!!
"It's not the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last but to see this much water running freely away after all the fires, hosepipe bans and the simple watering of our gardens is just criminal to me."
The business expects to remain closed until Wednesday, with repair work by Anglian Water still ongoing.
The issue is also affecting other local businesses like Kimo's Barber Shop.
