Aldi planning on opening new stores in Cambridgeshire

Aldi has confirmed it is looking to secure locations for new stores in the county, including south Cambridge, as part of its continued expansion in the county. 

The expansion is expected to generate new employment opportunities, with Aldi offering what it describes as industry-leading pay.

Jonathan Neal, managing director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, said: "We know how important it is for people to have access to affordable, high-quality food close to where they live, which is why we’re focused on identifying the communities that would benefit most from a new Aldi store.

"Opening new stores in these areas means we can bring great value to more customers, while also creating jobs and offering industry-leading pay."

The chain has invested more than £370million in new stores this year as it works towards hitting its long-term target of 1,500 locations nationwide.

Aldi is seeking freehold, leasehold or long leasehold sites in prominent locations with good visibility and access.

Its encouraging landowners and agents in Cambridgeshire to come forward with suitable opportunities.
