MP Steve Barclay says new trust is a positive for Neale-Wade

The North East Cambridgeshire MP said he had been notified that Neale-Wade will be moving to a new trust, describing it as “the beginning of an important new chapter for the school”.

He said the change was “an opportunity to build on the strengths that already exist within Neale-Wade and focus on delivering the very best outcomes for pupils”.

Mr Barclay stressed that his “priority throughout has always been the students”, adding that the young people of March “deserve every opportunity to succeed”.

He said the decision “provides a fresh opportunity to ensure they receive the high-quality education they deserve”.

The MP paid tribute to “hardworking teachers and support staff who have continued to support pupils during a challenging period”.

He said their “dedication to students and commitment to the school have been invaluable”.

Looking ahead, Mr Barclay said the focus “must now be firmly on the future”, with a new trust bringing “the opportunity to raise standards, strengthen leadership and build confidence across the school community”.

He said it was important the new sponsor works closely with parents, staff and pupils “to deliver lasting improvements and ensure every child can fulfil their potential”.

Mr Barclay described Neale-Wade as “at the heart of our community”, highlighting March as “a growing town with ambitious families and talented young people”.

He said he was confident the school “can thrive with the right support and leadership in place”.

Calling the change “a fresh start and a chance to look forward with optimism”, he said he looked forward to working with all involved “to ensure Neale-Wade goes from strength to strength and provides the excellent education that local students deserve”.
