It has applied retrospectively for the blue cabinet to be allowed to stay at the busy Nene Filling Station in the centre of Wisbech.
A planning statement says the lockers are "an important and legitimate facility" that meet the needs of consumers in "today’s dynamic retail environment", by allowing them to collect goods at a time which suits them.
It adds they reduce congestion by cutting the number of addresses Amazon's vans deliver to.
The device at the filling station, beside the Freedom Bridge Roundabout, receives one daily visit from a delivery van bringing multiple packages.
A heritage statement adds it has been located in "an urban environment which is dominated by retail and commercial development".
