Lloyds Bank on North Brink Wisbech looking for new future

James and Co estate agents, based in Great Dunmow, are currently marketing the former Lloyds Bank, which sits on Wisbech's historic North Brink.

The premises have a price tag of around £325,000 and are Grade II Listed.

The building is described as an "amazing opportunity" and "impressive" by the estate agents.

It offers 6,490sq ft of accommodation set over two floors, and even boasts a basement.

The estate agents state the building, which currently has planning permission for use as a bank, would suit a variety of uses.

They also state that the listed property has lots of impressive features throughout.

The building has been empty since Lloyds Bank closed its doors in January this year.

In a letter announcing the closure, the bank said: “Before closing any branch, we look at how our customers are managing their money and using the branch.

“Most customers are now using our mobile banking app, internet banking, or calling us instead. This means they are using branches, including our Wisbech branch, much less.”

In fact, figures produced by Lloyds showed there had been a 57% drop in the number of personal customer transactions over the counter or using the immediate deposit machine between April 2019 and April 24.

The estate agents are hoping the building will be quickly snapped up and given a new lease of life.

On the ground floor, the building has a large hall, which was previously the main banking hall. There are two small cubicle offices or meeting rooms, two sets of toilets, a staff room, a book room and a strong room, complete with a safe.

There are stairs off to both the basement and the second floor.

Upstairs, there are nine offices of varying sizes, two sets of toilets, a store cupboard, and a cleaner's space.
