The average price for first time buyers in Cambridgeshire has risen by £100,000 in the past decade.

New figures reveal that, as of this year, the average price for first time buyers in Cambridgeshire is £291,724 – almost £50,000 higher than Huntingdonshire’s £246,260.

Reacting to the data, Anna Death, valuation manager, at Thomas Morris Estate Agents, said: "The Huntingdon housing market has seen significant changes in recent years, mirroring wider trends in the UK property sector.

"Demand for affordable family homes and modern, commuter-friendly properties has grown steadily, this could be because of Huntingdon's location and excellent transport links.

"Despite rising interest rates, the market remains competitive, with property prices holding steady.

"There is demand from first-time buyers looking to step onto the property ladder, as well as home movers seeking more space.

"As the local economy continues to grow, Huntingdon remains a desirable place to live."
