Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service teams from Peterborough and Dogsthorpe were called to Throckenholt on Monday, April 1.

They had to rescue a horse which had got stuck in the river at Common Bank.

The horse, named Magenta, had been spooked while out riding. She unsaddled her owner and ended up in the river, unable to get out.

However, crews from Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service arrived at the scene and rescued Magenta using strops and lifting machinery from local company, Ratcliffes.
