Motorists have been banned from driving along a structurally unsafe road.
Station Road in Hilgay, near Downham Market, is closed to vehicles due to "dangerous consequential damage" near its junction with Cross Drove.
To allow Anglian Water to carry out repair work, the road will be restricted from use until Thursday next week.
An alternative route is provided via Hundred Foot Bank, Suspension Bridge, Welney Bridleway Five, Wash Road, Bates Drove, Wisbech Road and Lynn Road.
It then follows Ferry Bank, Southery Bypass and Modney Bridge Road.
Motorists face a maximum fine of £1,000 if the restriction is breached.
Station Road lies near Welney Wash Road which has faced months of repeated flooding, forcing drivers to find alternative routes through nearby villages.
Standing water can damage a road by saturating the tarmac and then evaporating, causing cracks to form.
Harsh climate conditions will wear the surface of a road more quickly and can add to the distress caused by general vehicle traffic.
