The fireworks display at London’s spectacular New Year celebrations was put together by a company based in Cambridgeshire.

Titanium Fireworks, near St Neots, has delivered professional displays at international events including the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

For one of the company directors, Darryl Fleming, last night was the 14th time he and his team has been responsible for the fireworks element of London’s New Years celebrations.

“They’ve all worked incredibly hard and without them, we would not have delivered such a spectacular display for our part of the show.”

On the ground, Titanium’s teams works throughout December preparing the London Eye and barges for launching the fireworks.

Darryl said: “Towards the end of the display, when the fireworks reach their finale, that’s when I personally feel a sense of euphoria.

“Mainly because at that point I know everything has worked and there have been no issues. Even after 14 years of doing this event, it still gets me.”
