An 'amazing' late arrival was among the new babies born at one of Norfolk's hospitals on Christmas Day.

Leonard Gartside was born at 8.49am on Christmas morning at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn - weighing 7lb 7oz.

The newborn was due on December 13, but decided to wait the extra 12 days to share his birthday with the big occasion.

New mother Jaclyn Pearce, from Wisbech, said: "I am so happy.

"He was a little late, so I wasn't expecting a Christmas Day baby, but it is amazing."

Leonard was one of four newborns delivered at the hospital on Monday.

A spokesman for the hospital said: "On behalf of everyone at the QEH, congratulations to these new parents and their families on their festive new arrivals.

"We wish them all a very happy new year."

It comes after the same number were born at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in Colney.

The first baby born on Christmas Day 2023 at the N&N was delivered at 6.58am and weighed 8lb and 8oz.
