POLICE arrested 24 people across Fenland when senior officers joined front-line teams on the beat.
A further 18 people were brought through custody in Central Division on Wednesday, as police responded to incidents.
Senior management went back on the streets as part of Operation Dexter, to carry out arrest warrants in an effort to keep in touch with those on the front line. A similar day was held in October last year.
Arrests were made in Wisbech and March, as well as Huntingdon, St Ives and St Neots.
The arrests were for a variety of crimes including theft, drugs, burglary, assault and criminal damage.
DCI Ian Tandy said: "It was another successful day and senior officers all commented on how useful it is to be involved at the front end of policing.
