An Amazon delivery van burst into flames following a collision involving a bus that was carrying school children on the A47 at Thorney Toll / Guyhirn last night.

Officers from the Wisbech Neighbourhood Policing Team along with Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service and East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust attended the scene of the crash, which happened at the junction with Black Drove.

Fire crews from Wisbech and March attended and extinguished the fire before a recovery operation took place to remove the vehicles that were blocking the road.

Wisbech Standard:

Once the vehicles were recovered, Highways England attended to assess the damage to the road, which will need to be repaired.

This resulted in the closure of the A47.

“Thankfully, there were no serious injuries reported at scene,” police confirmed.

“An investigation has started into this collision and if you have any dashcam footage please call 101 and quote incident 310 of November 27.”
