A busy stretch of the A47 from Guyhirn to Thorney will be closed for five nights later this month to enable "essential" resurfacing works.

The road from New Cut Roundabout to Rings End Roundabout will be closed in both directions from Monday November 20 to Friday November 25 between 8pm and 6am.

National Highways said a diversion will therefore be in place:

A47 eastbound traffic will be diverted west from New Cut Roundabout via the Thorney Bypass towards Eye.

At the Littlewood Roundabout, motorists should then join the A1139 south towards the Eye roudabout.

They should then continue south on Frank Perkins Parkway/Fletton Parkway.

Then, exit at junction 3A onto the A605 towards Cardea and continue along the A605 and A141 to rejoin the A47 at Rings End Roundabout.

Westbound traffic should follow the same diversion, but in reverse.

Local traffic will be diverted north on Gull Road/B1187, then west along Gull Drove and south along Black Drove to rejoin the A47.
