"We’ve released CCTV footage to the police and we now invite the public to help identify the offenders.

“Footage is available on Elliot Foundation social media.

“Both sites have been made safe and both schools are working incredibly hard to repair the damage as soon as possible”.

Nene Infant school had several windows smashed and one set of every external doors had every pane of glass broken.

Both have their faces covered.

They broke into a locked metal box being used by a company completing work in the playground and used some of the contents to cause further damage to the playground and windows.

Another set of double doors were covered in a tar-like substance and a hardening compound was also poured over our safety surfacing which has been ruined.

A spokesperson for the school said: “We’d like to thank the local school community for their kind support.

“Thankfully, the new playground (trim trail and nature area) at the Nene Infant site was undamaged and will be ready for the reception children to enjoy upon their return.”
