GAS canisters have been stolen from the North Cambs Hospital in Wisbech and laughing gas was taken from the town’s ambulance station.
Thieves smashed through a window of a fire door to get into a ward at the hospital, in The Park, between 6pm on Tuesday and 5am the following day.
They grabbed an oxygen canister and a carry trolley. The canister was later recovered.
Police are linking the theft of three canisters of etonox from an ambulance station in St Augustine’s Road, Wisbech, at about 9pm on Tuesday. Thieves have been targeting the laughing gas in other parts of the country.
Det Sgt Matt Swash said: “I am keen to speak to anyone who has any information about these incidents.
“This gas can be very dangerous when used incorrectly, people are running the risk of serious injury or long-term health issues.”
