“I have lived and worked in the area all my life where until 2008, with my wife Pat and my family, we ran T. R. Butcher & Son Ltd, Fuel Merchants, Haulage Contractors and Aggregate Merchants.

“Since my retirement Council roles have been my full time passion. These include Cambridgeshire County Council as well as eight years on Whittlesey Town and Fenland District Council.

“For the last two years I have had the pleasure and privilege to serve as Chairman of Fenland District Council.
