LIFESAVING charity Magpas has elected a new Chief Executive.
Daryl Brown will now lead the Cambridgeshire-based organisation, whose Helimedix teams save lives day and night across the East of England.
Mr Brown, a member of the National Intercollegiate Board of Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine, said: “I’m proud to represent a charity that wholeheartedly believes in putting the patient first. We consistently set our training standards at a national level and I feel truly privileged to lead such a well-respected, crucial service.”
Mr Brown is the chairman of NHS Cambridgeshire Link Work Group and has recently been nominated to be a governor at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Europe’s leading bio-medical Institute.
He said: “Magpas has truly evolved over the last 40 years; local GP’s used to drive in their cars to the scene of emergency incidents from their village surgeries and homes.
“Today consultants, doctors and paramedics who work for hospitals and the military all over the United Kingdom will sometimes drive for hours on their day off to volunteer for a day or night shift with Magpas.
“People in the Eastern Region can feel safe in the knowledge that if they were to ever need our services in the future, we will give them the best emergency care and roadside A&E treatment there is.”
