MEMBERS of a Fenland firm completed a 10k race to raise more than 2,000 for a charity which has become very dear to the company.
More than 30 runners from Hutchinsons, crop production specialists in Weasenham Lane, Wisbech, completed the Lincoln 10k run on April 3 to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.
Paul Moody, who was the account manager to Hutchinsons from a key supplier, died from a heart attack at the age of 54. Cheryl Chapman, a Fenland Running Club member, organised the team of runners, managed fundraising, and ensured all competitors proudly wore their bright-orange Hutchinsons running shirts.
The runners varied greatly in experience and stamina with Nick Baker the first home in a very creditable time of 39 minutes and 38 seconds. Richard Dix followed closely behind in a time of 41 minutes and 32 seconds.
