SITTING in a bath of beans for the day isn’t most people’s idea of celebrating their 40th birthday but it was for one Fenland school’s head teacher.
Joanne Borley spent Wednesday in Emneth Primary School’s playground urging youngsters to cover her in baked beans. However, she was doing so for a very good reason - to help raise money to buy a bike shed for the school.
The school’s pupils spent around six hours paying for the privilege to cover Ms Borley in beans. More than 130 was raised in the process.
