THE Easter Hare will be among the creatures awaiting children this holiday weekend at Peckover House and Garden, Wisbech.
The tradition of the Easter Hare leaving a trail of chocolate eggs is one that goes back centuries, its roots to be found way back in 16th Century Europe.
Children joining the Easter Trail at the National Trust owned home, in the historic North Brink, will be following clues to seek out the various creatures hiding in the garden.
The trail is sponsored by Cadbury’s, so there will be chocolate eggs as prizes. Adults, too, will be able to enjoy the springtime garden with its array of colours and scents and explore the house, newly opened for the season.
The Easter Trail will be available tomorrow, Sunday and Monday from noon-4pm each day. It will cost 1.50 per child plus normal admission.
The house and garden will be open daily until April 15 to coincide with school holidays.
