MORE than 100 people packed into a March church for a concert as part of an anniversary weekend.

The concert with the renowned Peterborough Salvation Army Band was the highlight of Trinity Church’s celebrations and raised 312.

The Rev Manivasagan (Manny) Pillay presented band leader David Craike with a donation of 100 and congratulated them on providing an inspirational evening in celebration of the church’s anniversary.

Special guest Councillor Bernard Keane, the Mayor of March, added his congratulations and thanked those at Trinity for all the work that had gone on in staging the concert.

Event organiser Reg Kemp said: “People must think we’re always fundraising at Trinity and must have lots of money.

“The fact is we need to raise 1,000 per week just to keep our heads above water to be able to provide the facilities we do, so we are eternally grateful to the local community for supporting these events.”

The church’s next concert is on Friday April 27 at 7pm with popular Irish singer Tom Kennedy. Tickets are 5 and can be booked in advance by contacting June Money 01354 656550.
