WISBECH was the second wettest place in the country yesterday - and Fenland looks set for another soggy weekend.
About half an inch of rain fell in the town yesterday, second only to the heavy showers in Pontefract, West Yorkshire.
The downpour came as forecasters warned that Britain could be experiencing its coldest May for 100 years.
Umbrellas look likely to get more use in Fenland over the weekend, with heavy showers forecast for Saturday and Sunday.
There may even be a risk of thunder and hail, with temperatures struggling to top 6C.
