FENLAND District Council has again been given national recognition for the quality of services it provides.
Councillor Michael Humphrey, FDC’s chairman presented a certificate of re-accreditation for Customer Service Excellence (CSE), to council leader Alan Melton and Councillor John Clark, portfolio holder for quality organisation.
In 2009 FDC became the first council in the country to gain CSE accreditation, a mark of excellence across the whole organisation.
Chief Executive Paul Medd told councillors: “We remain one of just a handful of councils who have been successful in gaining this prestigious, organisation-wide award.”
He quoted comments made by the external assessor, who said in his report: “I have assessed a lot of councils across the country and FDC is one of the very best.”
Mr Medd said: “I believe that despite the challenging financial circumstances of the past two years both members and officers should feel proud of this achievement as it provides further evidence to show that the needs of local people are at the heart of all we do.”
