WORLD record holder Jonnie Peacock’s place in TeamGB for the London 2012 Paralympic Games has been confirmed.
The 19-year-old from Doddington was announced as one of 49 selected track and field athletes today.
He will line up against South African Blade Runner Oscar Pistorius in the T44 100m.
Peacock’s selection comes 10 days after he smashed the world record at the US Paralympic Track and Field Trials.
The single leg amputee shaved 0.06secs off the record, which was set by both Pistorius and Marlon Shirley.
Peacock had his right leg amputated when he was five after contracting meningitis.
