TWO carpentry students from College of West Anglia’s Isle campus have lent their hands to a Wisbech care home.
Charlie Gibson, 16, of Wisbech, and Matt Barnes, 17, of Long Sutton, are both 1st year carpentry students at the college in Wisbech and decided to put their skills to use in the community by building several wooden planters for the residents of Rose Lodge Care Home.
Anne Driscoll, manager at the care home, said: “It was lovely to see what the young people had done for the residents and the planters are much appreciated.
“We have planted them up so our residents can enjoy some beautiful flowers this summer.”
Daniel Savage, the pair’s tutor at the college, said: “Charlie and Matt have put a lot of effort into creating the wooden pieces and are delighted to official present them to the home.”
The official presentation took place on Friday, June 15 at Rose Lodge.
