TWO judges from Anglia In Bloom were in March earlier this month to cast their eyes over the town’s entry for this year’s competition.
Nolan Mills and Brian Swift visited Eastwood Cemetery and the town centre to assess the quality of the floral displays there.
March is looking to go one step better than last year, when it was awarded a silver certificate.
Many different people have contributed to this year’s effort. They include Delfland Nurseries and FACET who provided the plants, March Street Pride group, the Friends of March Railway Station, CUB (a local company who release their staff on a monthly basic to do some volunteering), Neale-Wade Community College and Fenland District Council’s street cleansing team.
The plants are all paid for by donations from local businesses and residents, including March Town Council, Oliver Cromwell Hotel, March Lions, 3B Design, March Mayor’s Charity Fund, Tom Hyde and Son and Kashmir Balti House.
Judges also visited Chatteris earlier this month.
The results of the competition will be announced on September 11.
