A HORSE bred by sisters Sarah and Marie Watson could be an Olympic champion of the future, after being marked out as a potential national competitor in dressage events.
The colt, called Cathmor Florian, was the highest scoring two-year-old of the day in the dressage section at the British Equestrian Federation’s futurity evaluations held at Arena UK in Grantham.
Cathmor Florian - also known as Henry - earned a higher first premium grading, indicating that he has the outlook and potential to compete in national competition. He won a rosette and certificate.
Sarah and Marie run the Bankside Equestrian Centre at Walpole St Andrew. and they breed horses for eventing and dressage. Marie said: “We were very pleased with how Henry behaved. He has excellent manners and was very calm and relaxed. He had been prepared for the evaluation by Tim Harris of Woodcross Stud at Peterborough.”
This is not the first success for Henry, he received an Elite premium as a foal in 2010, and also stood champion at the British Warmblood Show in the same year.
