VINTAGE cars and historic steam engines drew in the crowds at the 39th Haddenham Steam Rally.
More than 200 cars, commercial vehicles and motorcycles, as well as full and miniature size steam traction engines, were on display for last weekend’s event.
Car parks overflowed as people tried to get in during the scorching hot weather to have a look at the historic vehicles as well as enjoy entertainment including the Raptor Foundation’s flying display and showings by the Fenland Marine Model Group.
There was also a funfair with modern rides plus traditional Chairoplanes owned by the Starmer family, Michael Rule’s Steam Gallopers and Ken Fox’s magnificent Wall Of Death.
Lisa Harris, who helped organise the event, said the steam rally was “important to the community”.
“Lots of things on display bring back memories of organisations or companies that are long gone,” she said. “It is a really good opportunity to fill in information that might have been lost.
“It is about looking at how things were done in the past, what we can learn from it and how it can help us to do even better in the future.”
Next year’s event promises to be even bigger, as the show celebrates its 40th anniversary.
