A FORMER pupil of Thomas Clarkson Community College in Wisbech, Harry Newman, is following a family tradition as he joins the Royal Marines and starts his commando training.

Harry was inspired to join the Marines after going to the passing out parade of his older brother Brett, who joined back in 2008.

Harry, who lives in Emneth, will start his Royal Marines career at the Commando Training Centre, in Lympstone, Devon, next month. He will undergo 32 weeks of recruit training before he can wear the coveted green beret.

On completion of training, Harry will be posted to one of three Commando Units, to take up his duties as a Royal Marines Commando where he could serve anywhere in the world.
