AN ELDERLY woman had to be cut free from her car last night after being involved in a collision with a tractor on the outskirts of March.
The accident happened late afternoon on the Upwell Road, near Bedlam Bridge, and the road was closed for two hours while emergency crews attended the scene.
Police at the scene said the roof of the woman’s car was removed to free her and she was taken to hospital. It is not thought her injuries are life threatening.
The accident happened as the tractor was turning into a nearby farm.
Diversions were set up for motorists approaching March but those arriving from the town faced a four-mile return journey and then had to find alternative routes out of the area.
