FOLLOWING two days of legal argument, the Crown Court case against former Stonea publicans George and Mandy Grima has been adjourned until October 8.
The couple’s trial had due to start earlier this week, but failed to get underway at Cambridge Crown Court.
Both George (53), and Mandy (50), have denied charges of fraud and abstracting electricity.
The couple, who used to run the Golden Lion, are accused of making a false representation to George and Christina Swindon between September 6 2010 and November 19 2010, by claiming that the electricity bills at the pub were lower than they were, and as a consequence Andy and Christina Swindon bought the Golden Lion at a loss.
George and Mandy Grima, of Serenity Rear, Golden Lion, Stonea, have also denied abstracting electricity between December 2008 and January 2011.
