A SPECIAL documentary film has been made to reflect on London 2012 and the enduring cultural and sporting legacy of the Games.
‘Inspiring Cambridgeshire’ showcases the wide variety of arts, sports and cultural events and activities which were inspired by the Olympics and Paralympics.
It explores themes such as diversity, culture and community and highlights a range of festivals, parades, carnivals and torch relays which took place across the county.
Councillor Martin Curtis, Lead Member for Olympic and Paralympic legacy at Cambridgeshire County Council, said: “There can be no doubt that 2012 will go down in the annals of history as a fantastic year for sport and culture in Great Britain.
“As I think back on the summer, I can’t help feeling goosebumps about the way our Olympians and Paralympians performed as well as the way local communities, towns and villages embraced the Games.
“Whether it was a visit by a Flame, a street party or a sports festival – we welcomed the spirit of the Olympics into our hearts.”
