A WISBECH couple returned to the church they were married in 50 years ago to celebrate their golden anniversary on Saturday.
Former Waterlees ward town councillor Neville Frusher, 73, and his wife Pauline, 71, renewed their wedding vows at the Church of St Peter and St Paul in Wisbech before enjoying a party with family and friends at St Peters Church Hall.
Mrs Frusher said: “We had a lovely service. A friend had a celebration there some time ago and we thought it would be nice to raise a bit of money for the church while having a party.
“We would like to thank all those that helped with the preparations and for the generous donations which will help toward the purchase of a new notice board for the church.”
The couple are keen co-ordinators for the Waterlees in Bloom flower displays.
