DRIVERS are being encouraged to car share to reduce congestion on the county’s roads.
During March and April petrol pump flyers will be advertising the Cambridgeshire Car Sharing scheme (CamShare), which matches journeys to other people who live nearby who make the same trip to the same destination or in the same direction.
Once matched members can choose to car share as little or as often as they like with whom they like.
Research shows if a person car shares just once a week, they could save up to £200 a year on fuel costs.
You can sign up for the scheme at www.camshare.co.uk
