CHATTERIS boxer Jordan Gill is ready to step up a gear when he competes in front of his home crowd tomorrow.

The 18 year-old is in action at Peterborough Arena against an opponent who has yet to be announced.

But Gill, who is unbeaten in five professional bouts, believes he will be too good for whoever is put in front of him.

He said: “Everything’s going great. I’ve been training really hard and improving my fitness to help with the transition to six round fights.

“I’m getting more powerful, more accurate, stronger and faster.

“I don’t have a clue who my opponent is but I know how to deal with anyone I’m in the ring with after a couple of seconds.

“It’s about adjusting to what is in front of you. That’s what makes a good fighter.”

Gill, who outclassed Pavels Senkov by unanimous points decision last month, has been sparring with WBC International Super Bantamweight Champion Kid Galahad and Lee Wood, who is preparing for a British Masters title fight.

Gill is not bothered about whether he gets a knock out win tomorrow.

He said: “For me it does not matter if I get a knock out. It’s all about getting the win and gaining more experience in the ring as my career progresses.”
