The Friends of Leverington Church have thanked everyone who made a recent concert such a great success.
The Clarkson Singers held a night of songs entitled, A Concert to Crown All Concerts, to commemorate the 60th
anniversary of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
Vice chairman of the Friends, Mary Watt, said the singers gave a varied and polished performance of popular music old and new.
Terry Arnold, Marilyn Pryke, Linda Cable and Val Rawlins served Pimms during the interval and the audience all joined in with Land of Hope and Glory and other Prom like songs.
The Clarkson Singers Director of Music Loc-Mai Yuen-Brooker accompanied them at the piano with 12 year old Lawrence Bradbury on drums.
Soloists were soprano Annelie Killen, tenor Phillip Tolley and alto Kath Powell.
Dorothy Wheeler and Jo Parkinson ran a raffle which raised £120.
Mrs Watt said: “On behalf of the Friends of Leverington church thank you to everyone who supported us on this night to remember.”
