EAST Anglia’s Children’s Hospices received a £700 boost from a Wisbech optical assistant who completed a week-long, 100-mile trek along the south coast.
Katy Joly, an assistant at the Specsavers store in Wisbech, raised £700 when she joined walkers to walk from Bournemouth to Exeter earlier this year.
This week she presented a cheque to Karen Newton, from East Anglia’s Children Hospices.
Ms Joly said: “I really enjoyed the challenge of the trek and enjoyed raising money for such a worthwhile cause.
“It really is one of the biggest challenges I faced and I am pleased that I had the backing from my colleagues in store.”
Specsavers stores across the region are raising money for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, which provides care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions.
Donations can still be made by visiting Specsavers, in Market Place.
