A MARCH student who hopes to make it in the world of press photography got his first taste of life as a paparazzi when he took shots of the Duke of Cambridge at the Royal Anglesey Show.
Neale Wade student Kallum Mueller, 16, was visiting grandparents in Moelfre on the east coast of Anglesey in North Wales, when the opportunity came to run with the press pack.
Kallum was booked to take show photographs with local freelancer Mel Parry, when he joined up with the Sky News team to get closer shots of the Duke, who had taken time out of his busy schedule as a new dad to attend the event.
Wearing an official orange photographer vest meant he was able to join up with the press teams.
Kallum of Knights End Road, said: “I got first hand experience of what press photography or cameraman work would be like; this is definitely what I want as a career.”
He used a canon 5D and 7D bodies with a Canon 70-200 f2.8 lens and a Canon 24-105 f4 lens.
Kallum, who has just sat GCSEs, will be going on to sixth form college in September to study photography and journalism.
Cambs Times editor John Elworthy said: “Kallum shows promise and flair but for me the key ingredient was the spontaneity of the pictures and recognition that this was a good story.”
