A team of brownies from Wisbech St Mary celebrated Autumn and the harvesting of local produce with a visit to The Orchard Tea Room and farm shop in Wisbech.
The girls picked apples in the twelve acre orchard where they learnt about the varieties on offer and were taught the difference between fruit for cooking and eating.
They also learnt about the apple pressing process which resulted in juice.
There was an opportunity to taste honey from a bee hive as well as completing a quiz challenge about the fruit grown in the orchard.
Brownie leader Elaine Middleton said “It was great for the girls to taste produce fresh from the trees on the farm.”
Currently there are spaces for girls to join the unit who meet in the village on a Tuesday evening during term time.
