A former gangmaster has been given a 12 week suspended prison sentence after pleading guilty to deliberately destroying time sheets to under pay workers.
Martyn Slender of Steeple View, March, was also given 200 hours of unpaid work with £85 costs and £80 victim surcharge.
District judge Ken Sheraton told Peterborough magistrates’ court today that Slender choose to go through unlicensed persons “no doubt with a view to reducing your expenses.
“In doing so you subjected people to low pay and the likelihood of poor living conditions.”
