A polar expert who was awarded a medal from the Queen for his services to Antarctic science shared his vast knowledge at a Fenland school.
Former Wisbech Grammar School pupil Mike Rose returned to the school where he was a pupil between 1975-1980 to speak about the British Antarctic Survey.
Rose, who was awarded the polar medal by the Queen in 1999, spent two years at the Halley research station in Antartica and has been back a dozen times since.
As an electrical engineer Mr Rose creates experiments which enable scientists to take temperature and other measurements throughout the year.
