Gedney Dyke village hall has unveiled a brand new look thanks to a paint donation from Dulux.

Staff at the hall applied for the paint donation because they felt the hall needed a more inviting look to bring it into the 21st century.

Five volunteers painted the rooms in bright raspberry red and light chocolate brown as these colours complemented the recently refurbished bar area. The hall hosts groups and events for the wider community including bingo and dance classes, with up to 250 members attending on a regular basis.

The paint was donated by Dulux decorator centres in Peterborough, as part of a mission to add colour to people’s lives, after Richard Ward, chairperson, nominated the project online.

Richard said: “We are so pleased with our bright new look. Our members have already commented on how much more vibrant and welcoming the centre seems now, so we’re hoping this will help draw more people in to use our facilities.

“The hall is an important hub for local people and we hope they like what we’ve done with the place.”

Gary Eversden, store manager of Dulux Decorator Centres on Forty Acre Road, said: “We really like the colours the staff at Gedney Dyke Village Hall have chosen, as they have helped create a really friendly feel. We hope local people make the most of their new-look village hall.”
