A packed Ye Olde Griffin Hotel in March saw manager Lee Oldale have his arms waxed in aid of Variety, which raises funds for sick, disabled and disadvantaged children.

Other staff and brave punters also stepped forward for public shavings and waxings at the raucous event, which also included a Man v Food competition, raffles and a disco.

Deputy manager Nathan Ruck said: “It was a really good night. The pub was very busy and we even had people joining in to have their head shaved and legs waxed.”
