A councillor is looking for a group of volunteers to help clear a row of four garages, owned by a housing association, which are overgrown with bushes.
Councillor Robert Mclaren says he has given up asking Roddons Housing to clear the garages in Kirkgate Street in Walsoken, which he says have become an eyesore.
He said: “I have told Roddons I will do it this once to get the job cleared but they need to take control of the situation.
“The lack of maintenance is wrong, it needs to kept on top of so the growth does not get out of control.”
Cllr Mclaren says he has contacted the association numerous times but has given up on the work being done.
“They tell me it will be done but nothing happens,” he said.
In the meantime he says he is prepared to cut back the mess with a group of volunteers.
If anyone is able to spare some time to help please call Cllr Mclaren on 01945-474270.
Roddons Housing Association took control of 3,754 homes, 613 garages and six shops from Fenland District Council in 2007.
Anne Brighton, managing director of Circle Housing Roddons, said: “We understand residents’ concerns as we are committed to creating and maintaining fantastic outdoor spaces.
“We have spoken with local people about these unused garages and will be joining forces with them to clear this site so that it can remain properly maintained.”
