Debbie Clark has announced she has resigned from her role as organising secretary of NE Cambs Conservative Association to work with neighbouring SE Cambs.
Mrs Clark has told the association said she has been working part-time for SE Cambs and has been offered a full-time position. She said it was “an offer I could not refuse”.
Mrs Clark has worked for NE Cambs Conservatives for more than 15 years and is considered by many as the backbone of the party in the Fens.
Robert Sears, chairman of the NE Cambs Conservative Association (NECCA) NECCA, wished Mrs Clark well for what he said was an exciting future in an offer that was too good to turn down.
He said: “She has been the organising secretary for eight years. During this year she has worked both part time for SE Cambs and part time for NE Cambs.
“They will be looking for somebody in the N Cambs office in the new year on a part time basis to do the leg work in the run up to the election.
“If we need any advice from Debbie, however, then she will only be a phone call away.”
