A March woman and her family have applied for permission to demolish a bungalow and replace it with seven houses.
Brand Associates have submitted a planning application to Fenland District Council on behalf of Val Wadlow and her family to develop the land at Redclyffe in Elliott Road, March.
The outline application is for seven two-storey homes on the site of the bungalow, which will be demolished along with some sheds.
Land to the rear of Redclyffe is vacant and overgrown and was last used many years ago as a transport (HGV) business yard.
The overgrown nature of the site means it has not been possible to survey trees but they have been indicated on a site plan based on aerial photographs. A condition requiring a survey and possible protection, retention or replacement of trees could be included in any planning permission.
Access will be via the existing entrance and provision will be made for parking and turning, including turning for emergency vehicles.
The number of houses applied for means there should be no requirement for affordable housing, but the planning statement drawn up by Brand Associates, says they will take advice from council officers on this.
The statement concludes: “There is a strong presumption in favour of this sustainable location and the proposals are in keeping with the character of the area.”
