Former five-time national amateur boxing champion Charlie Stevens boxed for the first time since rejoining March ABC on Friday.
Stevens took on Mickey Parsons, of Broad Plain Boxing Club, at a dinner show in Bristol.
The March boxer landed heavy shots in the first couple of rounds and in the second round knocked Parsons to the canvas with a body shot.
Both boxers showed tiredness in the third round but Stevens was crowned winner by unanimous decision.
Bernie Wing, of March ABC, said: “It was the best bout of the night. Charlie needed this bout but he has a long way to go.”
The previous weekend, Sparta ABC prospect Reece Oldfield was impressing at a show in Surrey.
Taking on home favourite Henry Collins, of Sporting Ring, Oldfield clinched the bout, which was chosen as the best of the night, by split decision. He extended his record to 13 wins from 21 bouts.
Matt Lenton, of Sparta ABC, said: “Reece won through against the odds in a very good, close contest. We are really pleased with and proud of him.”
