A new independent publisher based in March is celebrating the launch of its first book, a children’s tale called book Who’s Not In School?
Author Ross Mountney, and illustrator 18 year old James Robinson will be at Bewiched coffee shop in Bridge Street, Peterborough, on Saturday June 20 from 2-4pm where they will be talk about the book and sign copies.
While Ross is already a successful author, the book is a first for 18 year old artist James.
It features mischievous Harry who, along with his siblings, is home educated. While he’s learning at home he has all sorts of adventures, some of which he should not be doing.
Who’s Not In School? is the first book from independent, not-for-profit publishing company, Bird’s Nest Books and is receiving rave reviews, particularly for the illustrations which have been described as beautiful, colourful and detailed and a reminder of Shirley Hughes books.

Run by Jane Levicki, the company has a particular interest in books which feature traditionally under represented groups and communities and those which celebrate diversity and inclusivity.
