It was a night to remember for students at a centre for adults with learning disabilities when the venue held its first prom.
There was music, dancing and smiles all round as students glammed up to enjoy the red carpet, star-studded event.
Some students arrived in limousines and vintage cars while one pupils arrived in style in a sports car followed by an entourage of scooters.
Manager Kris Harrold said: “It was an unbelievable night.
“It was pretty much perfect, everything went to plan and most importantly everybody had a great time.
“Most of us take it for granted that we have been to weddings, proms or posh events and have had the chance to get dressed up and enjoy a night to remember, for many of our students this will have been the first time they could get involved in something like this.
“It’s definitely going on the calendar as a yearly event. We had so much support from local businesses, parents and staff. It was an unforgettable night and there are many thank you’s to many people for making it all possible.”
Joining the event was Miss Cambridgeshire Amber Twell who mingled with students for photographs and is now planning to get involved in volunteering at the venue.
The Marwick Road centre was transformed inside with a disco for students to enjoy an evening of dancing while outside there was a marquee.
Guests enjoyed a hog roast and a visit from an ice cream van.
In the run-up to the night prom outfits were donated from the public and businesses.
Mr Harrold thanked March Quality Meats, DJ Richard Allen, Cee Cee fun photography, Carly Adams event management who decorated the chairs and tables and provided the popcorn machine and for Lou’s balloon towers.
