Neville Staple, who found fame with The Specials, is to perform a charity gig in Waterbeach this month.
The Jamaican born singer who has been credited with ‘changing the face of pop music’ and has been with his own band, The Neville Staple Band, since 2004, is to perform at the Waterbech Club.
The gig, which organisers hope will raise more than £1,500, is being held in aid of the Arthur Rank Hospice and Great Ormond St. Hospital.
To reach the target £5 from each ticket sold will go to the charities.
The event will also include an auction with Neville donating memorabilia as well as local businesses donating items.
There will also be representatives from both charities on the night to raise awareness as well as a raffle.
The Neville Staple Band will play at the Waterbeach Beach Club, 33 Cambridge Rd, Waterbeach, Cambridge on Saturday September 12 from 7pm.
Tickets, which cost £27.50, are available from 01223 860033.
